Children's Work Space.....

So I've been thinking. It's time for my four year old son to move out of my work space and into his own. This Christmas I want to surprise him with a work space set up just for him. I took to the internet for some inspiration and came across a few work spaces for children that got my heart racing. I love to work with my hand so I'll be building everything myself. I can't wait to get started on this small project. I just have to devise a plan to keep him at bay as to what mommy is up to in the garage. Seek peeks coming soon.

Recap.... Best Birthday Week Ever!

Just to recap, last week was a crazy week for me. I decided at the last minute that I was going to give myself a small get together for my family and close friends to celebrate my 30th birthday. Yes I tuned thirty and it feels Good. It's been pretty cold lately, winter finally decided to come in southern California. So Hot Chocolate with all the fixing was on the menu. The party was great plenty of friend, family, and laughs, such a Good time. Thanksgiving was the next day which gave me a chance to relax and unwind from the night before. This pass Friday I celebrated my birthday, and what a great birthday it was. I went to Vegas and had a wonderful weekend. It's Vegas so you know the rules what happens there stays there. I want to send many thanks to all the people in my life that made my week wonderful. As I look back on it now I'm going to deem it as the best weekend of 2010 for me. Thanks everyone, especially my mother who took the time to make all the delicious treats that are pictured above.

DayDreaming......

I am in desperate need of a vacation. My daydreams are beginning to become more and more vivid as the work days seem to pass me bye. Boy what I wouldn't give to be working from a Hotel room on the beach some where. Any beach will do, as long as the weather is nice and the room service is awesome. Wishful thinking i guess, it gets me through the day.

Big Style for a Small Kitchen...

There is something about a bright, vibrant kitchen that gets my blood flowing. I wouldn't say that I love to cook, but I do enjoy it from time to time. It's definitely an easier task when you have a beautiful kitchen to cook in. If you have a small kitchen you don't have to scale back on style due to lack of space. Start by choosing the color or theme that you want to incorporate in your kitchen. Keep in mind that brighter colors make the room appear to be larger. If you choose to use darker colors try using them in a monochromatic scheme, this will keep the space from feeling cramped. Clutter is a No-No when decorating in a small space, it just doesn't work. When purchasing your furniture pieces be sure to keep them in the small to medium range. If the pieces are too big the function of the space changes, that's where that cramped feeling comes into play. Shelves and baskets are great ways to store your kitchen goods. They can also play into your decor theme and cut down on the clutter. Don't be intimidated by small kitchens after all the kitchen is the heart of the home, so give yours some tender-loving-care.

Thanksgiving is fast approaching and I am overjoyed. This is my favorite Holiday of the year for so many reasons. There's the great food that is served no matter where you seem to wined up. All the beautiful colors of Fall that are showcased in the decor, whether it be a table setting, wall hanging, or if your like my just spicing up the house for the season. And lastly My birthday always falls within the week of Thanksgiving, boy oh boy how I love it. This year we are preparing to have the Thanksgiving festivities at my house, which means there's lots to prepare for. I have a few pumpkins that I kept from Halloween that I will use as center pieces for the table decor. Here are a few example of how you can spice up the dinner table for your Thanksgiving Feast. Enjoy!

BathRoom Bliss......

I am the proud mother of a wonderful four year old little boy, who consumes a lot of my time. After a long day of parenting I like to retreat to my bathroom for a hot bubble bath and some well needed Me time. As a parent peace and quite is hard to come by these days. I view my bathroom as my own private hide away. While my hide away is not as luxurious as the ones above I dream that one day it will be. I love the colors, textures, and layouts of these fabulous bathrooms. Who would not want to enjoy a warm bath in one of these spaces? I have to admit that I am inspired by them, I feel a makeover coming on.

Inviting Entryways....

I absolutely love when I walk into someones home and the entryway feels warm and inviting. You can tell a lot about a person's style just by checking out the entryway of their home. It's almost like a small portal into their world. Entryway's should have function as well as style. Set the scene for your home by decorating you entryway to reflect your personality.  Make your entryway work in your favor, put things in place to keep your everyday things in order to avoid clutter. Trays and small bowls make great accessories and are handy for holding keys, cell phones, and other nick-knacks that we tote around everyday. Style is a key element to bringing your entryway to life. Create a welcoming glow with lamps or sconces, if you don't have room for lamps candles work well also. Add a little storage for things such as coats, and umbrellas, by using hooks or small coat racks. A small piece of furniture will allow you to store things that are not frequently use. You can even put dividers in the drawers to allow for everyone to have their own space. Don't be afraid to let your inner designer shine in your entryway. The first impression guest will have of your home will be based on the Entryway so make it unforgettable.

The Color Of Royalty...

Purple has been the Trending color this year in Interior Decor and Fashion. Some people like to think of purple as the color of Royalty. It has long been associated with royals and a sense of luxury for ages. Others consider it as a color of passion, because it can be so bold. Some like to think it's magical, I just think its beautiful. When decorating with purple you can change the feel of a space allowing it to become soothing and relaxing by using different hues of purple such as lavender, lilacs, and pastels. You can also amp up a space with bold purples like plums, aubergine, and purpure. Using purple in you color scheme can sometimes become tricky, too much can be a disaster. Monochromatic is probably the easiest way to use purple when decorating . This is where you take different hues of purple and layer them to create your perfect space. For example painting your walls a nice soothing lavender shade and accessorising with  purples, plums, and lilacs. If that's a bit to much you can always use a color wheel as a guide. On the color wheel Yellow is the complimentary color to purple. You can match these two up to create and exciting and vibrant space.
