As I am still running around like a turkey with my head cut off I realized I will not only be entertaining adults this thanksgiving, but a few kids as well. As a child I remember being seated at the kids table and being served thanksgiving dinner every year. Wanting to sit next to my mom at the adult table because of how pretty it was always set up. This year the kids table will be the envy of all adults attending dinner at my house. My brain is telling me if I build it, they will come. Meaning if I load the kids with fun crafts upon crafts they may stay entertained though out dinner. Allowing the children to decorate their own place-mats with crayons is always a fun idea. I love the idea of allowing the children to build the Mayflower from felt sheets, and paper pilgrims will definitely be a show stopper. If you are entertaining kids that are a little older in age, the paper "Thankful" tree is a great centerpiece as well as conversation piece. Blank leaves on the tree for them to write what they are thankful for is a way to get everyone involved in the Thanksgiving spirit.

Decorative Pumpkins.....
With Halloween just a few weeks away I am not looking forward to carving pumpkins after last years fiasco. I will be the first to say that I am not a pumpkin carver by far. I ran across these cool pumpkin crafts while waiting in line at the grocery store. I could not wait to get home to get the how-to's from CountryLiving.com. These fun filled crafts require little to no carving and are full of creativity. My favorites just happen to be the one's that require NO carving at all. I can't wait to get my hands on some cool prints to wrap my pumpkins in this year. Happy Crafting everybody.

Thrift Store Finds.....
I've been on the hunt for a new headboard for months now. When I finally decided to make my own I ran across this gem. I stopped over at Habitat for Humanity looking for some side table that would work with my design scheme on another project, and low and behold the design Gods we shinning down on me. This queen size headboard was priced at $25.00 and I was not about to let it pass me bye. I'm so excited to get started working on it. A little TLC is all this headboard needs and I'm ready to nurture it. Headboard make over take one. There are plenty of unseen treasures at your local thrift store. If you are a DIYer like myself take some time to shop your local stores before diving into your next project. You might find it a little more satisfying doing the work yourself and a bit more budget friendly by going the thrift store route.

They Say When You Go Black.....
Black is and will always be one of my favorite colors. It works well with everything, and has such a sophisticated feel to it. It's such a dramatic color that it will always make a statement in a room. People love to wear the color black because it's such a chic and bold color. I don't you about you ladies but I always feel a bit seductive in all black. Make a bold move and bring black into your home, it can be used to make a strong statement when done properly. I'm doing a really dramatic makeover to my bedroom and of course black was the first color in my design scheme. Bold, Seductive, and Sophisticated, yep sounds like me.

Winter Vacation.... Lake Tahoe
With summer coming to a close it's time to start planning for a winter
vacation. The Ritz Carlton in Lake Tahoe is the perfect getaway for some cold,
snowy winter fun. Now to be honest with you, I'm not one for the snow. My sister
has been trying to get me to snow board and I just have not mustard up the
courage to play in the snow. Lately I've been feeling a bit braver than usual so who knows I just might try it. While
searching for places to visit I came along the Ritz Carlton in Lake Tahoe. This
Hotel is what a luxury winter vacation should consist of. It's loaded with spectacular
views, fine dinning, spa services, beautiful rooms and lodging, and snow as far
as the eye can see. So if you’re looking for a winter wonderland getaway this
year, I think Lake Tahoe is a great choice.

Fall Trends... Get the Look For Less
With Holiday season right around the corner, most of us want to change up our home decor to suit the season. Missioni at Target has a great home decor line to spruce up your place this fall on a budget. The combination of fall colors and funky patterns make for a great look for less. Adding a few new pieces can create an entirely new space. I love the warm brown tones mixed with cool blues, one of my favorite color combinations. This look has trendy fall decor written all over it.

The Fanny Pack Is Back....
Does anybody remember when fanny packs were the must have accessory back in the day. We thought we were the coolest kids on the block due to a small little pouch that strapped around our waist. We would carry virtually everything in the house in that fanny pack and didn't need at least 90% of it. Then the day you saw your grandparents in matching ones headed to the family picnic was the day the fanny pack died. At least that's how it all went down for me. Well the Fanny Pack has reemerged with new life and I'm loving the new style and playfulness of the revamped fanny pack. Now if you know me, you know I am in the process of making one of my very own. These new fanny packs have inspired a new look for my morning hikes.

Back to School. Get Organized With Cereal Boxes
School starts tomorrow for my son, and I've been putting off making some type of organization system for all of the lovely art work that he brings home. It's down to the wire because the paper work will start to flow in less than 24 hours. I found these cool organizers over at Martha Stewart Crafts made from cereal boxes. This is a simple cut and paste project which works for me, I'll be done before the school bell rings. If you want to make this project for yourself just click the link above for instructions. Happy Crafting.
Happy Labor Day.....
Happy Labor day every one. Today I'm just going to take the time to reflect back on the summer, enjoy some BBQ, and Jump for joy because school's back in session as of tomorrow. Who hoo!
Real Bedrooms with Big Style....
I Love the simple matte photos over the bed in this room. Gives the space a personal feel while adding to the design.
I Love the elegance the gold trimming brings to this design. It's just enough to make a statement.
I Love the night stands and chest in front of the bed in this space. They unify the room for a clean look.
I Love all things Teal Blue. That is all. And the chandelier makes me want one of my own.
What Girl dose not want to sleep under a elegant canopy? Love It!
I Love this one because it simple. Less is always more, and this is a perfect example of that.
I Love the mood this room gives off. These a nice hotel vibe going on here.
We sometimes see bedrooms in magazines and think to ourselves, "Man I wish my room looked as good as this one does." Well over at Better Homes & Gardens they are showcasing 25 Real Bedrooms. These are a pick of favorites from the staff over there and I have to say I have a few favorites of my own. While I can't show you all 25 bedrooms the photos above are a few of my own favorite picks. These bedrooms are very simple in design and can be duplicated on a budget. Bedrooms out of a magazine are no longer out of arms reach.
